The League of the South’s Statement of Purpose:
“ We seek to advance the cultural, social, economic, and political well-being and independence of the Southern People by all honourable means”.
As the United States speedily moves further and further away from her founding principles and early Christian moorings, we find ourselves being swept along, unable to control, or even influence, the direction we are being carried.
The principles of government under which a voluntary union of independent States was forged, have been, or are in the process of being, lost to our people. The attempt to restrain the natural tendency for government to increase its powers at the expense of its citizens and the States it was created to serve has been lost. Today we find ourselves forced to live under a government that defines for itself the extent of its own powers. The Constitution, meant to “chain down” the growth and centralization of government power, and preserve a Republic of Sovereign States, is for all practical purposes a “dead letter”. How can Virginia, or any other State, defend her citizens ancient rights and liberties against the arbitrary usurpations that emanate from those claiming unrestricted power over her?
The answer comes from one of those founding principles in the Declaration of Independence our people once understood.
“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them…We hold these truths to be self-evident…that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness”
No other people has sacrificed so much, nor fought as long or as hard as the Southern People to maintain the vision of a truly federated system of government that respected and maintained the limits placed upon it.
The League of the South came into existence to not merely further that fight on behalf of our people, but to awaken them to the fact that neither our interests, our freedoms, or our faith have a future under a self-professed “propositional”, “universalist”, “multicultural”, and “benevolent Empire”.
In light of this truth, and standing upon the inalienable, God-given right of self-determination for all peoples (the mark of true diversity),the League of the South believes that it is in the best interests of the Southern People to eventually seek peaceful withdrawal from their present political associations in order to preserve Christian liberty and self-government for posterity.
The Virginia League of the South intends to create a platform from which the long stifled voices of self-conscious Virginians can speak out for our people and against the apostasies that undermine true liberty. [See Southern National Congress] Whether these apostasies are heralded under the banner of “globalism”, “universalism”, “political correctness”, “American exceptionalism”, “multiculturalism”, or a “New World Order”, our people are beginning to recognize the old face of tyranny and slavery that has bedeviled mankind in myriad forms throughout history.
Jefferson Davis once said that he “loved the union and the Constitution, but would rather leave the union with the Constitution, than remain in the union without it”.
Despite the lies, distortions, and obfuscations employed by those who seek to retain their power and control by fomenting squabbles and distrust between us (the old “divide and conquer” stratagem), the Southern people are coming to the realization that once again, the principle for which we contend, is nothing less than our own freedom, self-determination, and survival.
WHERE WE STAND ON IMPORTANT ISSUES:
Federal tyranny can only be ended through the assertion of our rights and liberties through our State representatives. They must stand on the principles of consent of the governed, the voluntary nature of our union of States, and the ultimate right of a declaration of independence through peaceful secession when our rights are threatened.
Protection of our people from illegal immigration and the denial of our right to control our own borders.
An end to any control over the education of our children by the federal government.
Support for the 2nd Amendment and the transfer of control over our militias (National Guard) to the State and the people.
Peaceful commerce with all Nations and entangling alliances with none. This would include the UN, GATT, NAFTA, etc.
The right of the State to interpose itself when Supreme Court decisions, Presidential edicts, or Congressional laws violate the principle of divided authority and States Rights (examples would include Abortion, Military Conscription, Redefinitions of Marriage, Military adventures, etc.)
Protection of the first Amendments proscription against the Federal Law meddling in any way with the FREE exercise of religion within the States.
Restoration and recognition of the dual nature of our Citizenship. We are foremost, Citizens of our States with a residual citizenship within the union of States we freely and formally choose to associate ourselves with.
Repeal of the Income Tax Amendment and the end of control over the money supply by the Federal Reserve.
The recognition and promotion of our culture as derived from Christianity with the Bible as the cornerstone of our worldview.

We are a grass-roots Movement, made of pastors, teachers, professionals, farmers, scientists, small business owners, workers, and homemakers… in short, we are the common People of Virginia who have come to the realization that, unless something is done now, our children and grandchildren will never have the opportunity to live their lives as free men and women.
We are not a racist nor a military organization – just an organisation of dedicated, like-minded Christian Southerners.
