VALS Southern Jubilee and Picnic
14 July 2007 Page 2

No one could have asked for finer weather and a more beautiful location that Claytor Lake State Park to hold an event. Along with great speakers, fantastic food provided by Mrs. Wayne Carlson, and foot stomping bluegrass from Appalachian Countdown, there was plenty of fellowship!

Virginia LS Executive Council member, Southern National Congress provisional chairman, and the author of The Hunt for Confederate Gold, Thomas Moore was our MC for the day. Tom is a valued part of any event primarily because of his encouraging zeal for the cause of the South and thought provoking insights.

We were very privileged to have Pastor Franklin Sanders come and speak at our event. Pastor Sanders spoke about regaining our personal and family independence by taking charge of our health, the education of our children, and getting out of debt.

Pastor Sanders holds up a copy of the latest issue of the Free Magnolia a newspaper style journal published by the League of the South. The Virginia LS is very excited about the potential power of the Free Magnolia in awaking our fellow Virginians.
